Leisurely Walk C
6 miles, minimal ascent
Walk Description
We’ll walk up beside the River Almond to Cramond Brig (lots of steps both up and down and can be muddy). Then past some really nice houses to a path between two golf courses to find our way to Lauriston Castle and grounds. From there we’ll cross another golf course to descend to the banks of the Forth and follow the promenade back to the car park.
Travel Directions.
From Currie Library, take Riccarton Mains Road to the Calder roundabout and A71 towards town. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the bypass A720 to the Gogar roundabout. Turn right onto A8 and then left at traffic lights to the Maybury Road, A902. At the Barnton junction go straight ahead down Whitehouse Road. After just over a mile turn left into Cramond Glebe Road and the car park is downhill on the right
