Overview

A circular walk of arond 5.8 miles, starting and finishing at the Miner's Rest, Chasetown. We walk along Highfields Road before entering open country, following public footpaths to Hammerwich. The route progresses onto the Lichfield Greenway and the Wyrley & Essington Canal, with a short break at Chasewater Coffee Shop. From there, the walk goes along Chasewater shore, progressing onto Church Street and finishing at the Miner's Rest.

All the tracks are good, with one stile to cross. Refreshments available in the pub afterwards.

Meet at Wyndley Swimming Pool car park 09:15 for car sharing. Directions to the Miner's Rest pub, Highfields Road, Chasetown: Take the A5127/Lichfield Road towards Shenstone. At the A5 roundabout, take A5W, crossing Muckley Corner roundabout. At the next roundabout, take the third exit onto Hanney Hay Road and at the second roundabout, take the second exit onto Highfields Road. The Miner's Rest is about 0.5 miles on the right. Parking at the back of the pub.
