For the Sunday of our Christmas weekend away, we'll be taking a leisurely stroll from the main hotel. We'll decide at the start if we want to do the shorter 8 miles with a stop at the Salmon Leap, or 10 miles with a stop off in Totton centre. Heading down the road we'll pass by the Ordanance Survey's headquarters, and take the chance for a cheeky photo stop with our favourite OS Maps(!). From here we'll be following the path into the Lower Test Nature Reserve, during the winter this is an important salt water reserve for native birds. The broadwalks will take us across the marsh estuary of the River Test, with some potential for stops at hides. From here we'll be heading upstream to the Testwood Lakes, before crossing the reserve and the river again at Nursling Mill, and then making our way back to the cars at the Premier Inn.
