Deepdene Trail to explore remains of hidden C18 Italianate Garden on edge of Dorking.
Spot a lion (stone) and remains of grotto before views of the Surrey hills.
Then farmland and lunch next to Brockham village green.
Some road walking and 114 steps – alternative sloped path.
Also four low stiles and some areas which can become muddy.
The Reading Room Café at lunch – pasties, cakes and coffee
Or Royal Oak pub serving drinks but no food.
Plenty of benches besides the green and a Spar Shop

Meet 11:15 outside Dorking Leisure Centre (09:46 Surbiton, change to 10:18 at Clapham Jct). OR (10:18 Kingston, change to 10:43 at Raynes Park). Approx ten-minute walk from Dorking Stn to Leisure Centre (Sports Centre). OR 465 Kingston to Dorking bus – alight Reigate Road, just after Silver Chicken statue roundabout.
