We are the Mendip Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
West Mendip Walkers moderate 12-mile circular walk from Newton Poppleford Recreation Ground (EX10 0EY). We begin by walking along the river to the village of Harpford, the path then climbs up to Fire Beacon hill with magnificent views of Sidmouth and surrounding area. We follow the East Devon Way path towards Mutters Moor to meet the Jurassic coast near High Peak at Sidmouth. On leaving the coast we return via Otterton following the river Otter back to Newton Poppleford. Otters are sometimes seen in these waters.
Total ascent 1622ft (492m). Dog friendly.
Park at Newton Poppleford recreation ground. Refreshments available at Greendale farm shop, but pre-orders required through walk leaders.
