Start from free car park in Croesor. The postcode covers the valley; there are two roads into the village, both single track with passing places (take care), and both lead to the crossroads.
If you come down the gated road, at the crossroads go straight over and car park is 50mtrs on right.
If you come down the single-track road off the A4085 through Tan Lan, at the crossroads turn left and again 50mtrs on right for the car park.
Free toilets available.
The walk will take us on the road uphill out of the village and up onto the ridge (no exposure) and up the short easy scramble to the summit of Cnicht, before we head to Rhosydd quarry via Llyn Yr Adar.
The section from the lake to the quarry can be boggy so gaiters and waterproof boots would be ideal.
There will be a chance to look inside the adit at the disused Croesor quarry, about 500mtrs easy walk in but head torches will be required.
The pace will be that of the slowest person, plenty of stops for taking on food and drinks.
Please contact Mervyn on mervcarpenter2023@outlook.com should you require any further
information. The walk will be subject to weather conditions and subject to change as per any dynamic risk assessments on the day.
