We are the Rochdale Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

This is our annual Coach Ramble and the venue this year is Sedburgh. There will be a shorter walk of approximately 8 miles and a longer walk of 10.5 miles.
Places need to be booked and prepaid and the cost is £20. Please book with Gill Hollas 07899 995837.
The shorter walk is extremely pleasant and scenic and although 8 miles does not have many inclines.
LONGER WALK - 'THE CALF' - message from Walk Leaders, Andy and Denise:
The walk starts at Joss Lane Car Park. The morning part of the walk is a gradual uphill climb to “The Calf” , where we plan to have lunch. After lunch we start the descent which takes us over a variety of terrains. We go past the fabulous Cautley Spout Waterfall, after which we head back towards Sedbergh.
The walk took us approximately 6 hours and we had great weather which resulted in fantastic views.
This iconic walk is demanding but is well worth the effort! We plan to have quite a few stops to take in the views (fingers crossed for the weather), so please ensure that you have plenty of refreshments!
