This circular short and social walk in the Ironbridge Gorge starts at the Black Swan public house. We will be climbing from the riverside up into the woods called The Crostan, descending into Lee Dingle and then skirting the perimeter of Blists HIll Museum, across fields and footpaths, eventually crossing the river passing Maws Craft Centre and the Tile Museum and back to the pub for lunch.
This walk is a mixture of footpaths, grassland tracks, woodland paths and paving. Distance 5 miles. Total ascent 90m. Both the walk and the pub are dog friendly.
Hazards: Tree stumps and muddy in places consistent with the time of year. The path around Blists Hill Museum may be particularly muddy so poles and gaiters may be useful. Boots/strong footwear advised. Parking will be limited so car share where possible advised.
We will need to pre-book our meals with the pub so please let me have your choices by the evening of Monday 5th January. The pub need the list on Tuesday 6th. Menus will be put on our WhatsApp group or I can email individually on request. My email address is c.round579@btinternet.com.
