This walk has been CANCELLED due to flooding in the area making the walk inadvisable. This walk will now take place on SUNDAY 14TH JANUARY. 2024 Timings and other details will remain the same.
We are the Collingham Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A circular walk around Besthorpe and Girton.
Starting at Besthorpe playing fields car park we will make our way to Besthorpe Nature Reserve and then along the River Trent to Girton.
Here we will stop for lunch where there will be mince pies and mulled wine provided. The church and the village hall will be open.
We then make our way back to Besthorpe along the River Fleet and the walk will finish at the Lord Nelson Pub.
You will need to provide your own packed lunch and bring a cup if you would like mulled wine.
The terrain is mainly flat, there are no stiles but it can be muddy in places so boots are required.
