Leisurely 7 mile mile walk from The car park at the East end of Combs reservoir with great views overlooking the Goyt Valley and as far reaching as Kinder Scout and Mam Tor on a clear day.
The first hour of the walk gently climbs up to Spice Hollins Farm then up to our first refreshment break before reaching the Wythen Latch. From here we drop down overlookjng Errwood and Fernilee reservoirs in the Goyt Valley. Our second short climb takes us in view of Hanging Rock where we will have lunch. Shortly after the Whitehall Outdoor Centre we begin our descent into Combs Village, then back to the car park following the newly laid reservoir path.
The car park is the start of the walk and can be found at the East end of the reservoir off the main Tom Lane/Manchester Road through Tunstead Milton. Once on this main road look out for the Hanging Gate Pub, if it is on your left the car park is the next left turn, (not the sailing club) about 200 meters further on. If it is on your right, you have gone 200 meters too far, turn round in the pub car park. My backmarker will be stood on the main road in a bright orange jacket to guide you in.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short lead at all times.
