Linear to Maidenhead Station. A figure of 9 stile-free walk led by Stephen R (Mobile No: 07450 437466 on the day only) over fairly level terrain, heading west through Cookham Dean and into Bisham Woods, then northeast along an escarpment with fine views over the Thames Valley which leads to Winter Hill, returning to Cookham along a busy section of the river. The last part of the walk includes a particularly attractive section of the Thames Path, passing the hanging beech woods of the Cliveden Estate on the other side of the river and Boulter’s Lock on the outskirts of Maidenhead. Lunch stop at Cock Marsh at ‘The Bounty’ pub or at Cookham at ‘The Kings Arms’ pub after 6 miles. Cookham is also a drop-out point, shortening the walk to 7 miles. Map: E172, L175.
