This is a circular after xmas ramble starting and finishing at Vane Terrace Darlington.The walk will be through the West End of Darlington to Blackwell and then on to Stapleton. A minor climb up to Stapleton Grange and through Monk End Wood leads down to the River Tees Flood Plain and the churchyard of St.Peters Church at Croft. After crossing Croft Bridge the route will follow the Teesdale Way travelling back to Vane Terrace through the South Park. The route is generally easy walking with good ground conditions and a mixture of urban paved paths and fields. The distance is around 10 miles so has been graded as Moderate. There are no toilets and refreshments on route but a shop at Blackwell will be passed early on and there are toilets and a cafe in South Park (subject to Xmas opening hours) but these are towards the end of the walk.
We may encounter livestock on route so the walk is not suitable for anyone wishing to bring a dog.
Free on road parking.Meet outside Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College for a 10 a.m. start.
