The walk takes us up to Culmstock Beacon for our first stop. Then on to Culm Davey plantation and down Culm Davey Hill to a post box. In Culm Davey we head right for Pithayne Farm. On to Pitt Farm then continuing west and turning North and right at a junction and postbox back up to Woodgate.
Highlights along the way were the quick ascent to Culmstock Beacon with its interesting history and views; beautiful old avenue of beech trees leading to Little Thatch and other picturesque thatched dwellings in Culm Davey. Un spoilt farm tracks with abundant variety of flora, grazing cattle and an 'open-air museum' of old farm machinery, easy under foot near end of walk on quiet lane to ample field parking. It is hoped that Neil and Ceri from Tapscott House will walk with us.
