This is a circular walk from Hallgates Car Park at Bradgate Park. It follows the perimeter up and down paths of the deer park passing Old John tower, the Yeomanry war memorial, pools, woodland areas and the River Lin to the ruins of Lady Jane Grey’s childhood home, where we take a detour around the edge of Cropston Resevoir and meander back along a country road and footpaths through Swithland Wood before returning to the Car Park.

There will be a short coffee/ lunch stop before we take the footpath around the reservoir.
We will indicate suitable points where any walkers who wish to cut the walk short can take the main pathway back from the Deer Park Café to the car park where, sometimes there is an ice cream van. If the weather is wet and cold bring suitable clothing and footwear. Trekking poles are useful on up and downhill especially if the ground is muddy. About 6 stiles.
