Overview

This walk takes us from Dorchester, Brewery Square to Winterborne Came via Maxgate (home of Thomas Hardy) and on to Whitcombe where we head east towards West Knighton ponds. We then head North towards West Stafford crossing the railway onto Duddles Heath to Rushy Pond and Hardy's Cottage. Lunch will be either at Rushy Pond or the Hardy Cottage Visitor Centre. After lunch we head towards Kingston Maurward and pick up the Hardy Way and a further footpath back to Dorchester via Fordington to our start point.
