We set out South East from Okeford Hill which lies north of Turnworth on the road to Okeford Fitzpaine.
The first part of the route can be rather muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. It’s a mixture of woodland and open fields as we descend to the picturesque village of Winterborne Stickland.
We continue uphill from Winterborne Stickland to Charity Wood, Dunbuer Lane and Whiteways Farm.
Then onwards and upwards for about 3 miles to Ibberton Hill. We then return along the Wessex Ridgeway back to Okeford Hill.
Parking in free designated car park on the left if travelling north from Turnworth. Larger vehicles can park in the layby at the brow of the hill.
