We are the East Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Starting off high up in Downley Common, we will walk downhill through the woods to Hughenden Manor and make a short ascent into the courtyard. From Hughenden we will head over the hill, through woods, fields and along holloways into West Wycombe. Another short, steep ascent will bring us to the Dashwood Mausoleum, an unusual monument, commanding fantastic views of the surrounding town and countryside. We descend from here to cross the valley and make our way up the other side, through the woods towards Bradenham, but turning back towards Downley Common via Naphill Common, continuing through beautiful, shady, woodland pathways.
This is a hilly walk with two steep ascents and two longer, more gradual inclines. Registered assistance dogs only.
Le De Spencers Arms, Plomer Green Lane, The Common, Downley, High Wycombe, Bucks HP13 5YQ. Please park in the pub car park if you intend to stay for lunch, otherwise in the parking bay opposite. Please observe the 'No Parking' notice for the area beyond the pub.
