We are the Alton Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Starting from Workhouse Road Car Park in East Meon we will walk through the church yard and up the very steep hill behind the church. The route continues around to Park Cottages, taking in good views, and around Rookham Copse to skirt around Barrow Hill. We will take the footpaths back through Frogmore, past the Izaak Walton pub and back to the car park.
We will stop for a brief break so bring a drink and snack as required.
There is one up hill steep slope to negotiate near the beginning but the rest of the walk is generally down hill or quite flat towards the end. Some areas may be muddy and there are a few stiles. Please wear sturdy footwear and bring poles, if you use them.

Alton Sports Centre Lower Car Park by Alton Skate Park, Jubilee Playing Field, Chawton Park Road, Alton or in the upper overflow car park. There are football matches on Saturday morning and the car park can be very busy.
