Start from The Square, Elham. Meet by the entrance to St Mary’s Church, opposite the Kings Arms. Please park considerately in The Square or along the Valley Road near to the Primary School. If travelling by bus, catch the 17 leaving from Folkestone at 10.20 or from Canterbury at 10.05 and get off at the Rose and Crown stop.
The walk, which is mostly on footpaths, leaves Elham on the Elham Valley Way via North Elham before climbing the slopes to the top of the Valley with magnificent views. We’ll then cross flat farmland to return via our Memorial Gate where will pause to remember our much-missed members, Margaret Lubbock and Les Preston.
There are some hills and stiles. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome but you may need to lift them over the stiles.
There’s the option of drinks and /or lunch at the Kings Arms – if you wish to eat, please book via their website at thekingsarmselham.com or on 01303 840242.
Public toilets are available in Elham before or after the walk.
