Overview

This a fairly short walk melding easy canal-side ambling with some slightly more challenging routes through woodland paths and climbing steadily out of the valley to return to our start.

The second part of the walk may meet a couple of stiles and some uneven ground. Bring a drink and a snack to enjoy in beautiful surroundings en-route. Calderdale weather can be variable, so dress for the forecast conditions, including footwear. Walking poles can be recommended to aid balance on uneven ground. Dogs on a lead are welcome.

Meet outside Project Colt, at Elland Mills on Elland Bridge. Car parking is available to the rear of the building, or on Gasworks Lane opposite, or on-road further into Elland town centre. Elland is well-connected by public transport.
