Overview

Enjoy this scenic circular walk from Chingford station through Epping Forest. Our walk begins by visiting the historic Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge, followed by the peaceful Connaught Water teeming with birdlife. We move north through the forest and then exploring Loughton Camp, an Iron Age fort giving us echoes the forest's ancient past. Our lunch break is at High Beach, offering impressive views and a choice of picnic, food kiosk, or a pub lunch at Kings Oak. Sturdy shoes are recommended as we venture beyond the main paths in to heart of the woods. Toilets at station and hunting lodge. Drop-out point – only by taxis to a station
