West Mendip Walkers moderate 10 mile circular walk from Evercreech. We leave in a northeasterly direction, over fields towards Stoney Stratton. From here we begin a steady ascent, along Chesterblade Bottom to the St Mary’s Chapel. We’ll pause here to admire both this ancient building and the magnificent panorama to the south. Our route then takes us through Chesterblade Village before we turn east to Higher Alham and then south along the Alham Valley to Batcombe. We’ll stop here for lunch in the churchyard. We’ll then head southwest, continuing along the Alham Valley and passed the moated settlement at Spargrove, on our way to Milton Clevedon and across more fields before veering northwards back to Evercreech.
Mainly dog friendly, across fields with stiles and footbridges. There are several short sections along minor roads around Chesterblade.
