This will be walks to explore the Dudmaston estate. The morning will be a leisurely five mile walk around Comer Woods. In the afternoon there will be a four mile walk down to Hampton Loade and the River Severn then back through woods to the main Dudmaston car park. All walks will use National Trust routes. They have not all been recc'd but as they show on all maps at the car parks doubt if there will be any problems.
There are options to just do the morning walk and then visit Dudmaston hall and gardens and/or visit the tea room. It would also be possible to make a short visit to the hall or gardens or tea room but probably not all three after finishing the afternoon walk which I would expect to finish by 3 if not before.
As this is a different walk from our usual format please contact Viv if you have any queries on the options.
Car sharing will be available from Lady Byron Lane B91 3HL leaving at 8.40am but discuss with driver and fellow passengers on how long they intend to stay - come back at lunchtime, or immediately after the afternoon walk or after a look at the house or gardens. This is a round trip of nearly 80 miles so £8 would be a reasonable contribution to the driver's costs.
Parking is free for National Trust members so if somebody in the car has a membership card no payment will be required. Cost £5 for day using the Pay by Phone app but at Hampton Loade I saw somebody using cash so this may be an option.
Parking at the main car park is free for members but non-members would have to pay the full entrance fee for Dudmaston Hall of £14.00 so parking at Sawmill.
Note that the tea room at Dudmaston Hall is not available unless you have paid the entrance fee or are a member.
