Overview

This is a figure-of-8 walk, where we walk a morning loop, returning to the start point at lunchtime, and after lunch walk a second route in the afternoon. This means people can walk the morning loop only, the afternoon loop only, or walk all day. If you are walking all day please bring some lunch with you, as there may not be time to buy food during the break.

For the morning loop we will walk from Odell and through Harrold Country Park, then cross the river Ouse via the historic Harrold Bridge. From there we will head across the fields almost to Pavenham, before walking back to Odell across another bridge to the start point and lunch. The morning loop is around 5 miles.

We will have our lunch near the Bell in Odell, and stop for a quick drink at the pub. There probably won’t be time to buy food from the pub, so please bring a packed lunch with you.

In the afternoon we will start at 1:30pm from the pub. We will head north to Odell Great Wood back into Odell, before looping round to Harrold village and making our way back to Odell again via a different path through Harrold Country Park. The afternoon loop is around 4.5 miles.

Everyone is welcome, whether you’re an established member of the group or haven’t walked with us before. New Members are welcome to join us. Note the walk is a mix of tracks and footpaths and may potentially be muddy in places. Please wear appropriate clothing for walking in the country, and walking boots.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, though please note there may be stiles, livestock and other dogs on the walk. Any dog owners are fully responsible for their dog. More information is available on the Ramblers website https://www.ramblers.org.uk/advice/safety/dog-walkers.aspx.

Please be aware that all of our walk details are shared on the Ramblers walk finder, our Facebook page and in our Meetup group. You are welcome to join us on any of our walks you can either let us know you’re coming if it’s your first time by emailing us or by confirming your attendance on either Facebook or Meetup.

We are part of, and funded by the Ramblers (Britain's walking charity) www.ramblers.org.uk, who are working to create a Britain where everyone has the freedom to enjoy the outdoors on foot. Our walks are free to attend but, once you have attended three of our walks we would ask you to consider joining the Ramblers as a member.
