Starting from the 12th century parish church of St James, this 3½ mile walk explores the lovely countryside around Finchampstead. Along well defined paths, we head south from the church and then west, passing Fleet Copse and an interesting sign relating to when Henry VII and Prince Arthur were hunting nearby in Finchampstead before meeting Catherine of Aragon.
Meet for a 7pm start by the green outside St James's Church, Finchampstead, near The Queens Oak. Please park considerately around the green.
On returning, there will be the opportunity to visit The Queen's Oak for refreshments, so named following Queen Victoria's visit to Finchampstead to plant an oak tree opposite the pub on the green.
Although this is a short walk, you are still advised to bring water to drink.
