From Ford we follow the By Brook river valley and woodland paths to the picturesque village of Castle Combe. With a few ups and downs, we then circle back through fields and woodland on the opposite side of the river to Ford where we can have a drink or lunch at the White Hart Inn.
Earlier, we can stop for a break in Castle Combe, (where there are public toilets), so bring snacks and a drink. The walk is likely to be muddy if we've had heavy rain so bring waterproofs or gaiters and, if you have them, walking poles. Also, walking through the woods there is some uneven ground and large roots to avoid. No stiles.
Many thanks to our friends at Kingswood Ramblers for inviting us to join the walk and the optional lunch afterwards at the White Hart Inn. If you would like to join the lunch, please email Chris (chrissawyer@blueyonder.co.uk) who will be booking a table.
