The walk goes from the village hall at Forestside west on the edge of Stansted Forest to Watergate then northerly via Grevitts Copse towards Up Marden. We then go eastwards to Compton. The return is via Horsley and South Holt Farms and Warren Down.
An undulating walk mainly on footpaths and tracks in open country side and woodland. There is a small amount of road walking. Excellent views from the high ground. There will be short coffee break at Up Marden followed by a longer lunch stop at Compton.
A suggested minimum donation of £2 per car with a small donation for passengers to use the hall facilities prior to and following the walk.
The Forestside village hall car park is located on Broadwalk, nearly opposite Christ Church.
