A walk along peaceful paths and tracks, partly alongside the River Wye, before a wooded climb leads towards open fields and quiet lanes past the hamlet of Brockhampton with its unusual thatched church. From there the route leads to Capler Camp, an iron age hill fort with preserved ramparts. Having reached the highest point of the walk, 140m above the river, footpaths across farmland and through Pagets Wood nature reserve lead back to the start point, maybe with a stop off at the historically interesting Fownhope church just before the end.
