A 4.5mile moderate circular walk, with some steep sections, gradually reaching the Garth Summit, with some fantastic views of the Bristol Channel on a clear day.
Starting from the Taff’s well Inn, we will cross the river and pass Llan colliery which has a memorial to an explosion in 1875.
We will then ascend towards Pinecroft Cattery before turning and climbing to the summit of the Garth. We will return with a steep descent to pass Gwaloed y Garth before returning to the Taffs well Inn.
The walk includes 280m of elevation, on mixed terrain and may be muddy in sections. Boots walking poles and layers are recommended.
