Overview

This walk starts outside Girton Parish Church at 10.10 for mulled wine and mince pies.

Walk comprises of two loops around Girton, on round New Lane, Spalford Warren and Girton Sailing Club, the other through open farmland and down to the River Trent.

The route makes use of footpaths, bridleways and minor roads.

No stiles or hills, we cross the A1133 twice.

No livestock present on the prewalk so dogs on leads welcome.

There is the option to do a single loop for a shorter walk. (4mls approx)

There will be a coffee stop (full or short walks) and a lunch stop (full walk only) so please bring your own refreshments and something to sit on.

Boots are adviasable.

Start at Girton Parish Church NG23 7JA. Parking on the road adjacent to the church and village hall. Directions from Collingham: Take A1133 north towards Newton on Trent. Turn left at the 'Girton Village Only' sign approx 1 mile north of Besthorpe. Then bear left onto High Street and proceed to the church (on the left)
