This is a circular 12 mile walk on forestry tracks and tarmac paths and can be boggy in parts. Some parts of the walk is steep with an ascent of 1400 feet.
We head up the Glen through forestry track and stop at the pylon at the top where we have views of Beinn Narnain and Ben Vorlich. We continue down through the trees till we reach a bridge over the Inveruglas Water. We then turn left on to a tarmac path with Ben Vane ahead of us and Ben Lomond behind us.
At the fork we take the left hand track and across the bridge we can see the Loch Sloy Dam up on the right.
There is a carpark at the top of Loch Long across from the petrol station. Fee £1.50 per hour or parking at Community Centre, £5.00 per day.
If parking at the community centre, it can take half an hour to reach the car park across from the petrol station.
