Start at Ogwen cottage café area. As you face the café, toilets and information centre, look left and you will see a set of concrete steps leading into Cwm Idwal, the base of these steps will be the meeting point.
Route from Ogwen Cottage, pass Llyn Idwal, then a grade one Scramble up Seniors Gully to the Nameless Cwm, then onto Seniors Ridge, up onto Glyder Fach and then Glyder Fawr by way of Castle Y Gwynt (Castle in the winds).
The route down will either be the scree slope at the side of Bristly ridge or the Miners Path, both lead to Bwlch Tryfan and then we follow the trail down past Llyn Bochlwyd and down past the waterfalls back to the start.
For the grade one scramble up Seniors you will need the correct footwear, to provide ankle support and grip. There are plenty of hand and foot holds on this route. In the dry it is an easy grade one scramble, however due to the terrain NO DOGS will be allowed.
The start time and meeting point is to allow for the holiday period and extra people that frequent the area. There are several laybys in the area as well as the pay and display at the Cottage. As you may not get in the small car park you may have to use the laybys, hence the meeting point at the base of the steps. Please allow time for this as you may have to walk from the laybys.
