Overview

A new walk taking us to what feels like a remote part of Somerset, yet the start point is close to one of the main highways - the traffic is soon left behind.

the route takes us from the crest of the Polden Hills down onto the levels, visiting the lovely ancient Church on Lolover Hill before making the climb back up to the ridge for lunch. The views are stunning, think Glastonbury Tor, the imposing Hood monument and the isolated Walton hill converted windmill. There are several short climbs, one is a bit longer, but not too steep- obviously there are some descents too! The route is on grassy tracks, some rougher ground and some good tracks, and may be muddy in parts. There are some stiles.
