Overview

A 7.5 mile, circular route across rolling countryside promising some fine, open views. From Great Hampden cricket ground, we head west through Monkton Wood down to Highwood Bottom before passing through Turnip End and the Horse Trust's retirement home for horses near Speen. We then cross fields to Walter's Ash and traverse the Upper North Dean valley before returning via Great Hampden Common. There are a couple of short but sharp ascents. Walking conditions should be sound, weather pemitting. Please bring refreshments for one stop.
