The walk passes through - Alexandra Park, built to create work for people during the cotton famine and subject of a lottery funded restoration in the early 21st century, Snipe Clough, proposed location of an urban farm eco park, Park Bridge - once site of a large ironworks , the Medlock valley and Glodwick Lows, a local nature reserve.
The walk has few gradients - but some paths in Snipe Clough and along the Medlock need care. Total ascent is around 700 ft. Mostly stile free
Dogs are welcome but will need to be on a lead for much of the walk. There are toilets at the start /end and, along the route, at Park Bridge .
