A varied walk with sections across both Greenham and Crookham Commons, alongside the Kennet & Avon canal and woodland bridleways and paths including part of the Brenda Parker Way. Leaving the control tower we head along the northern perimeter of Greenham Common before heading down to the Kennet & Avon canal. After a lock side coffee stop we head into mixed woodland and farm tracks before following a meandering stream back to enter Crookham Common where we follow the southern perimeter back to the control tower. The going should be good with no stiles, four gates, a swing bridge and a ford to negotiate. There are three short and one longer (500m) road sections, one gradual downhill descent from the common down to the canal and a short sharpish ascent back up to the common towards the end of the walk.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day.
