On this leisurely (Grade D+) 5 mile walk we will visit Gronant Dunes and the viewing platform overlooking the beach where there is a nesting colony of Little Terns.
Following the walk you are welcome to join the group for an optional pub lunch at The Bells of St Mary's Pub & Restaurant (see the link below to a copy of the menu). There is no need to book in advance but it is helpful if you can (via text message).
The walk starts with a gentle uphill stretch on a flower-fringed byway (primrose, red campion, hawksbeard) to the village of Gronant and a viewpoit over the Irish Sea. Returning to sea level, we'll follow a boardwalk to the seashore viewing platform before heading back via the dunes (spot the pyramid orchids) and a short section along the beach.
Dogs
Deeside Group has a policy of not allowing dogs on its walks. Registered assistance dogs may be permitted, but only by prior arrangement with the walk leader.
