Overview

The walk takes us down from Hackpen Hill, over Wick Down and down again onto Berwick Bassett Down.  We will then pass through the outskirts of the village of Winterbourne Monkton.  Our route then takes us along the winterbourne to the pretty village of Berwick Bassett, and on to Winterbourne Bassett, passing the site of Richardson Village.

The walk back takes us up a steep but short ascent of Hackpen Hill, passing the trig point at 272m and back to the car. Some stiles.

Bring lunch and refreshments.

Poles/sticks may be useful as it is likely to be muddy in part. Chalk can also be slippery when wet. There may be livestock en-route.
