Matt is leading an easy figure of 8 walk.
This is a figure of eight walk, meaning that you can do the morning, the afternoon or both walks
EASY CIRCULAR SEMI RURAL WALK: For the first part of the walk, we will be starting from the pub car park we will cross the fields passing the remains of Halesowen Abbey. We will then cross manor way to follow the Dudley no2 canal to the Leasowes. After climbing through the park there will be a short distance of urban walking after which we rejoin the
countryside crossing fields to pass Lapal farm on our return to the Black Horse where we can stop for a drink afterwards. This wak is roughly 5 miles
For the second half of the walk we will head in the opposite direction, crossing the fields to follow the line of the old Halesowen Railway, passing the remains of the Dowery Dell Viaduct and continuing to reach Waseley Hills Country Park. From here we will then make our way across the fields and some semi urban walking to reach Frankley Beacon, before returning to the Black Horse. This walk is roughly 6 miles
TERRAIN: Mixture of beautiful, open countryside, parkland, urban walking and short
distances of road walking
Please arrive at 09:45 for a 10:00 start for part 1.
