Leisurely linear walk along the Thames, past Taggs Island with its houseboats and views over to Garrick House & Temple.
Change from Sunbury destination:
As the river level is still high & it is unlikely that the ferry from Walton to Sunbury will be running, the walk will now continue into Walton with a lunch stop there; picnic, Barn Café or pub. We pass one of the best examples of a Medieval Manor House & some 'blue-plaqued' buildings. Conditions can be muddy.
Option to return to Hampton Court Station on 461 bus or to continue along the river to Walton Bridge & Shepperton Station for the return journey. A valid ticket is required from Shepperton to Hampton (zone 6). There is only one train per hour on Saturday due to ASLEF strikes. Estimated finish time 3pm"
Hampton Court Station (Waterloo 10.06, Clapham Jct 10.15, Wimbledon 10.22, Surbiton 10.32 or R68 Richmond Station via Twickenham & Teddington or 111/216 from Kingston. Please note a return ticket is required from Sunbury Station to zone 6 Hampton Station but leave purchase until the day in case ferry isn't operating, thus necessitating return from Walton-on-Thames.
