Overview

After skirting Happy Valley, we walk though Old Coulsdon, itself, for a visit to the church and its striking cherry trees before heading to Kenley Airfield. Optional lunch in The Fox. This is a mostly easy walk but there are a couple of sharpish hills that we will take our time over.

RAF Kenley: the perimeter track on the airfield is now a designated walking trail. We won't walk all the way round but will pass the memorial to those who lost their lives in the 1940 air raid and learn a little about that raid. With luck, we may find that the civilian gliding club will be launching and recovering gliders during our visit.
