Overview

A 5.4 mile walk from Hatch Beauchamp to Beercrocombe and Curry Mallet along footpaths and quiet lanes. Pleasant views, only one stile, about 250 ft total ascent.

Update Monday 21 October
Route amended to minimise (but not actually eliminate!) mud. This means fewer footpaths, more road, but all are quiet lanes. Even one of the substitute lanes is currently flooded – but shallowly and easily walkable with proper walking boots. Some quite narrow paths along the edges of ploughed fields and some unevenness underfoot in various places. One flight of about 8 stone steps with no hand rail down to the old Chard Canal and a slope up the other side. No farm animals encountered but dogs may have to be on leads for much of the time because of road walking.
