Starting at Heads of Ayr this popular walk has great views of Ailsa Craig and on a good day Ireland. The route is on dismantled railway paths, cliff top field paths and sandy beach. Passing Dunure Castle, Doocot and Croy Bay it reaches Culzean Castle. From here the walk goes through the Culzean Country Park and passes the Swan Pond before descending back down to the coastal path into Maidens.

Travel to start of walk by private bus. Pick up points in Cumbernauld: 8:50am - Craiglinn Roundabout Bus Stop 8:55am - Condorrat Main Road Bus Stop. 9.00 am - Park at car park for Cumbernauld New Town Hall, Bron Way, Cumbernauld G67 2LP Then make your way to the bus stop on Bron Way (left out car park) (see map) **** Bus back at Cumbernauld approximately 6pm. ****
