We are the Chester-le-Street Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A moderate circular walk of 8 miles. From the car park, we join the Bowes Railway Path for 2 miles, which takes us to Kibblesworth, at which point, we join the Angels Way leading us through a medley of open fields, pastures, meadows and woodland. After walking alongside the River Team, we have a steady ascent up through Hedley Hall's ancient woods to return to the car park.
This walk offers a mixed terrain of established paths, bridleways, country lanes, open fields and woodland, with stiles, steps both up and down, steady inclines and descents throughout.

After approximately 5 miles, before you get to Stanley, take the right hand exit signed for Tanfield. Carry on down the hill and turn right at the T junction on to the A6076. After approx 1.7 miles, turn right on to Hedley lane (signed Birkheads Nursery). The car park is on your right, approx. 800 metres up the hill.
