An 8.5 mile walk starting from the Bowlees Visitor Centre car park (chatted.tennis.snowmen is about the right location from what3words), up the river Tees from Low Force to High Force - a superb riverside walk to the best viewpoint for one of the most spectacular British waterfalls, and certainly England's grandest waterfall with its 24m drop. The return is on little-used paths and byways along the north side of the valley (The guide-book mentions at least one path being a bit overgrown - I see the possibility of nettles, so bring/wear long legged trousers!).
Car share at 10am from Morton Park, Darlington, the part of the car park near to McDonalds (vines.necks.cattle would be about right using what3words). The walk leader won't be at the car share but Nicola & Laine have kindly offered to meet people there.
Bowlees Visitor Centre is a pay car park, so do bring £ for that, and for cake/ice cream from the cafe on our return from the walk. Also bring all the usuals: packed lunch, snacks, waterproofs, sturdy hiking boots/shoes, and full-legged trousers in case of overgrown sections.
