We will leave the village on a quiet lane until we reach a bridleway on to the hills. We go round Llan-fraith Hill to enjoy the panoramic views and then zig zag down to a small brook. We cross the brook and head up to Aberedw Hill, which is on the opposite side of the valley. We then follow a path over Aberedw Hill, before turning back towards Cregrina, crossing another small hill before descending back along a permissive path to end the walk at the church. St David’s church is a fine example of a rural Radnorshire church and worth a visit.
There is a steady climb on to the hill and several smaller ascents over undulating terrain during the walk, putting it at the more strenuous end of moderate. The hill paths are mostly grassy, but the bridleway can be muddy. The descent path can also be a bit slippery with some low branches. There are several gates and one slightly tricky stile.
