Overview

From Hirwaun Library, we follow Merthyr Road towards the Heads of the Valleys road, to join a formed pathway alongside the road. After approx. 1.5 miles we turn off to Nant Moel reservoir, with sweeping views of the Cynon Valley (weather permitting), before morning tea. The path then cuts through farmland (with a possible narrow stream crossing, depending on the weather) to pass through Nant Moel farm (now an accommodation centre) before heading to Crossbychan, and a pathway to Llwydcoed. Lunch is beside a canal relic, after which we head to the Hirwaun Tramway and back to our start point.
