A linear walk from Histon to Cottenham, passing through Westwick Hall and Rampton, walking through peaceful rural Cambridgeshire, taking in quiet villages, green fields, and historic landmarks.
Westwick Hall dates back to the 17th century and is a grade II listed building. We will walk through the picturesque grounds before heading to Rampton along Rampton Drift and Beck Brook.
This walk will finish in Cottenham where there are regular buses (No 8) to Histon and Cambridge.
Due to the ongoing maintenance work on the Guided Busway (Bus B) from Histon to St Ives, there is a temporary stop opposite The Railway Vue pub on Station Road, Histon if you are coming from Cambridge. You will need to walk a short distance to the starting point. Please check start point carefully.
If you are coming from St Ives on the Guided Bus (Bus B) the same applies. The stop will be outside The Railway Vue pub on Station Road, Histon.
Alternative you can get the No 8 bus from Jesus College and drop off at Poplar Road which is very close to the starting point.
