Following another reccie bushwhacking session🌵🌵our walk this Sunday is now ready for you - even if you wear shorts!
From our start point near Hollington we head out on a northerly loop taking in rolling upland countryside and woodland glades. There is some roadwalking involved to link everything together plus around 15 stiles in total. Nice views from the higher ground.
Fancy it? You're most welcome to join us. All we ask is that you let us know beforehand so that we can look out for you. Cheers.
And cheers in the pub afterwards, especially as they have kindly allowed us to use one of their car parks.
Directions (primarily for our own members, or any guests travelling northbound).
The start is located at The Raddle Inn some four miles due west of Rocester, Staffordshire.
From Hednesford via the A460 to Rugeley where straight on at the Miners island to pick up the B5013 signed for Uttoxeter. Follow this road for approximately 12 miles to turn right at Blounts Green lights onto the A518 for 0.5 mile to reach Uttoxeter.
Continue on the A518 around the eastern side of the town by carefully following the multiple signage at the islands for Rocester B5030, which is ultimately joined by turning right at the last island shortly after crossing the A50 overbridge.
Proceed on the B5030 for 2.75 miles to Rocester, where turn left at the first island before JCB signed for Hollington and follow the course of this road for 2.9 miles.
Enter Hollington village and proceed uphill to a blind summit crossroads where turn right with care signed beforehand for Tean & Cheadle. Continue for 600 yards, then turn right again into Quarry Bank signed for The Raddle Inn.
Drop downhill on this narrow lane for another 600 yards where the Raddle Inn is situated on your left. Do not use either of the pubs tarmac car parks but turn right opposite the pub building onto a short gravel road. The car park is then on your left after 50 yards.
