Is everything ready for the big day? Do you just need a pause as you gird your loins for the final push?
Perhaps all you need is country air and like-minded company to take stock and chill a bit!
This is a quickie walk of less than 8 miles, probably fortified en route by a mince pie and a snifter, leaving you plenty of time to make the finishing touches if you have to.
We leave the village of Horton, promptly taking in a view of the 230ft folly that is Horton Tower. This varied walk incorporates gently rolling farmland and a nice stretch of mixed woodland, as well as a pass through the golf course, ending back in the village close to Drusilla's Inn. It is mostly level, with only two notable yet gradual climbs, and I can almost guarantee mud and nettles will be included so be prepared. We have the option afterwards to visit Drusilla’s Inn for refreshments.
Note: we walk at a fairly brisk pace, and although this isn’t an arduous walk in general, it’s important that you are capable of walking this distance. If you have any concerns please contact the walk leader in advance.
